Garden Writing Clips

For the past 20 years, I’ve written extensively about plants, landscaping, lawn care, and gardening. While you can see my trade magazine clips in my portfolio, you may not know I’ve also written for online consumer magazines.

My Writing Journey: Serving the Lawn Care, Landscaping, Garden Design, and Gardening Enthusiasts

Starting next month, I’ll be starting on my horticulture certificate in Pennsylvania. It’s funny how our lives move in directions we never expected.

I started in college wanting to be a teacher, changing it to nursing, and returning to teaching. I went on and did substitute teaching. When I was expecting our firstborn 24 years ago, I returned to get my special education certification.

I took one class, got an A, and became a mommy. I have zero regrets. But I did need to make an income, so I started a tutoring business.

I had the writing itch, though, since my college journalism days. I loved to write, which surprised me—and the more I wrote, the more I loved and wanted to make a living at writing—including content creation.

So, I started writing clips for my local newspapers, moved on to trade magazines, and then onto B2B blogging. As I got involved with Garden Communicators International, I realized I also wanted to write about consumer garden topics.
